This Is Getting Serious!

After being a full-time artist for a couple of years I thought it would be a good idea to look for a mini van to carry my large canvas. I have gone from painting only small sized paintings to painting on canvas up to 4’x5’ and I want to go bigger!

I had been planning on purchasing a new vehicle anyway since my Honda CRV was 16 years old, she has served me well!! In fact, I’m going to gift it to someone who is very deserving, I wish I could afford to gift a new car but this is the best I can do for now.

While looking at cars, I began to think what might happen to the art industry after COVID… my answer to myself, just about anything! After doing a couple of art trunk shows, in which several artists sold our artwork out of our trunks and successfully too, I decided I was going to create a mobile art van! This way, I’m prepared for anything!

I purchased a 2015 Ford Transit Connect cargo van and plan to use it for art sales, a gallery, my studio and who knows what else! Thankfully, some of my family members are car enthusiasts and have offered to help customize my van. It came to live with me the other day and work on it will begin soon. I’m going to post updates as the van comes along, so check back here soon!

Artfully Yours,

Julie Riley
